Can anyone help? I wrote for information on my uncle's service with the RAF during WW2. He was shot down and killed in 1943. I wrote to RAF 3rd Party Disclosure Team at RAF Cranwell and all I recieved was two very poorly presented A3 sheets with so little info as to be useless. Is that all the offficial information that there is available?
I have spoken to Kew and am planning a visit there but they did not hold any hope that I would find official war records. In marked contrast I wrote to the National Archives of Australia (NAA) and I receieved over 60 pages of service records relating to one of the crew members with my uncle. I paid almost the same price to the RAF and NAA for these records. Am I missing something here?
