There are 185 RAAF deaths recorded in Italy. If anyone is able to take photos of these headstones or knows anybody that can, please let me know.

    Cheers

    Spidge -
The Aussie graves are fairly well spread all over Italy and I am sure that you know of another two cemeteries -I refer to Coriano Ridge and Cesena - might there be more graves there ?

There are seven cemeteries in the Rimini area of the Gothic Line battles - this includes Gradera...can't put my finger on the others at this time.

    Hi Tom,

    Thank you for your interest.

These names and their final resting places have been drawn down from the CWGC site as well as another 200+ Aussies who are listed as UK as many were with the RAF when war broke out.

It is a testament to these young lads of whom many people still today were not aware that Aussies participated in the European theatre in WW2.

    Cheers

    Spidge-
I know the feeling about the ignorance of knowing who did what and when during WW2 - the Commonwealth was well represented in Italy etc especially in the Air Forces which was technically the Desert Air Force with Aussies- Kiwi's - Canadians and South African and Rhodesian - at the time - Pilots as well as Divisions from Canada - NZ - India - and Sth Africa.
    Cheers

    Great photos Capt Bill.
I don't believe the sky was that colour , you must have 'photo-shoped' it. ;)
Seems Italy has had quite a few WW2Talk members visiting this year.
