In the war grave areas they are. The rest of the cemetery is a total shambles.

    Is shambles the correct word?
Have they let the cemetery "go back to nature" slightly which is good habitat for wildlife such as you photographed?

I not sure but I think that dragonfly is a female Rudy Darter (Sympetrum sanguineum )
EDIT actually I think it's a female Common Darter. Sympetrum striolatum
    British Dragonfly Society
    EDIT 2.
This thread comfirms it's a Common Darter.I posted your photos there Kitty.

gen, i will try to return for the Canadians, but be warned there are A LOT.

Cheers Owen, at the time I thought it was a four spotted darter because of the markings on the wings.

As to shambles I don't mind a bit of wildness in a churchyard (came across one yesterday being planted up as a full cottage garden. Looked gorgeous just slightly surreal). What i meant was headstones had been vandalised and knocked over and broken, stones marked up as dangerous but nothing done etc etc. The war graves areas really showed it up.

EDIT: forgot to post what i came in here for. Spidge been going through some air crash books for this area and found several reports and info on the crashes I haven't already sent. One is a full crew in Blacon, others are not buried there. If I type them up would you like them?

Would love the details however don't go to too much trouble. A short synopsis would be great.

Taken alot ofpics at Blacon cemetery at Chestre of Oz lads.

I did four cemeteries in Melbourne yesterday, one of which is the largest of the public cemeteries.

Knees and ankles are absolutely RS. By public cemetery, I mean they are buried from one end of the cemetery to the other.

So I do sympathise with the efforts of those who are trekking round helping me out.

    Ibuprofen is your friend ;)

No worries bout typing up the info, most of it is quite short anyway. You aren't getting the photos with them as my scanner does not like to scan.

Do you use scanner wizard to scan?

My scanner will not work from the controls on the printer (3 in 1) however it works perfectly using the wizard.

my scanner is temperamental. sometimes works sometimes don't. Will do my best.

gen, can you confirm if you want the Blacon Canadians? You have a day or so to let me know so i can get back there and take their photos, otherwise uni intrudes and that'll be it for another 6 months.

I have finally finished all of the imputations of the 10,835 RAAF 39-45 deaths and thought I would put a few extracts together which was the original purpose of the exercise.

A few surprises in the list for me however it may have been a similar average in the Air Forces. I wonder if anybody has completed something like this for the RAF?

I went to transfer all of the cemeteries I did last week and all that is on it is my daughters girlfriends birthday party.

My lot from four cemeteries has just disappeared.

    She pleaded not guilty.

I am not a happy chappy!

Infanticide is allowable in this situation. I shall swear you were in England at the time having a drink with me.:mad111:
