RA in Libya 1940

    I found the attached at a car boot abiut 15 years ago and have recently re-discovered it lurking in the loft.
    I was discussing it with my older brother and I bet him someone on this forum would be able to pinpoint the location and regiment.
    So - how about it?? :D

    Reme -

    Fair guess - Sollum - Cyrenaica Aug 1940 - Lybia did not take over both Cyrenaica and Tripolitania until after the war - probably RHA with the pith helmets etc - and are there six men on that gun ?- as the sixth man had to look after the horses.......the 11th Hussars were also active at that time giving Grazianni a headache until Beda Fomm when he went into the bag....January '41

    3rd and 106th RHA were div troops for 7th Armoured at that time ...other RHA and RA units were in Corps troops

    That gun should be 18 pdr Gun Mk 4 on Carriage 18 pdr Mk5P.

    Now you only have to find what unit used this type of guns in the North Africa in 1940.
