Thanks to Andy (Drew5233) I now have the above War Diaries. They cover the period from inception to disbandment i.e. 21/4/44 to 27/7/45

The unit formally came into being ion the 22nd July 1944 and disbanded 27th July 1945.

The months prior to 22nd July deal with the preparations to get the unit up and running.

There are approx. 500 pages of War Diary, Intelligence Reports and Map References of probable enemy mortar positions. (no maps though)

I can't say I understand it all but I am on a serious learning curve.

My father was posted to the unit in August 1944 and joined them at Anghiari. (Italy) and stayed with them until disbandment. (He was previously an Anti Aircraft Gunner)

Apart from the Nominal Roll there is also a list of the men and their duties. My father was listed as a Switchboard Operator. They had 3 10 line switchboards

If anyone is interesred in Counter Mortar I am happy to share the War Diaries via Dropbox

    Diane

(No doubt I will be asking questions of members soon)

    Afternoon Sheldrake

If possible map sheets of the area around Faenza - Province of Ravenna and/or area of Roncofreddo in the province of Forli-Cesena. If this is not possible anything in the Po Valley or the Gothic Line.

I will be very grateful for any map sheet of these areas.

I am a novice at this and any help is welcome.

    Regards
    Diane
