I am trying to find any information, but particularly unit war diaries or recollections of 940 Inland Water Transport company/unit Royal Engineers. I know the unit existed in June 1944 in Normandy and later had elements on the canal system in Germany immediately post war.

Any assistance of pointing in the right direction would be useful as I am trying to locate details of a S.N.C.O. (Tugmaster) killed in Dortmund in 1945 after the end of hostilities.

    many thanks
