R.A.F. Dog-Tag found 10 years ago

    Hi Everyone,
    A lady found a dog-tag in a field by her farm, called Aeroplane Field in Rhydonnen (in the Gellifor direction) near Llandyrnog, North Wales. Can anyone identify who this is and what happened to him. The Village of Llandyrnog & Llangwyfan are compiling a book about WW2 in their village and this would help them so much.

    Hi Mavis.

    This belongs to an ex Engineering Officer in the RAF who reached the rank of Group Captain in the 1990s.

    If you put his service number into the London Gazette website you will find some info on his promotions.
