Looking for the original source for this page and a copy with better resolution, as some of the names and hometowns are not readable. Found two of the official portraits at the LAC, there might be others …

The context information for the first photo says it comes from Numerical Album 47. There are PDFs of all those albums now so you might find more of those photos there.

As for the original page with the text, where is it from?

    Oof. Uploaded 10 years ago??

It looks to me like it is from a newspaper. Are you Canadian? You might have public library access to a digital archive, for instance I can apparently access the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail. And it probably appeared shortly after D Day. I could look at what is available to me if you don't have access.

The other possibility would simply be to read about the unit. There have been multiple books published about the 1at Canadian Parachute Regiment. Again, don't know if you'd have library access to those.

That website frustrates me so much. No indication of where the images came from, even British IWM images.

I live in the USA where local libraries have limited material on Canada armed forces. The big university libraries have more, but not all of them allow access to non-students and those that do charge substantial fees for permits.

Already more than I expected, thanks.
