Question about a couple of (Canadian?) abbreviations?

I'm reading over the war diary of the Canadian 3rd Anti-Tank Regiment and have come across these two things:

"FATs". These are vehicles for towing 17-pounders, but what exactly were they? Ford something?
"BLR". One vehicle "had to be BLRd because of generator trouble, as we were unable to obtain a new part."
