Restoration pictures from 'Armytech' With some interesting internal views Jagdpanzer 38 picture gallery Sister vehicle to that Vz.38 at the Military Technical Museum in Lesany: ÄŒKD GROUP - Sponsoring Pretty sure it's a G13 but the museum (Can't find a decent homepage for there, sounds like a fine collection) also has a 'real' Hetzer in what look like original Czech markings?: These are well worth a look too, extensive photos of the one found on a beach in Poland recently: Hetzer - wydobycie z morza w Juracie Bocian - Ogólnopolski miesiêcznik ODKRYWCA Cheers, Adam.
Hetzer-tastic. Now that would be a day out, the annual Lesany technical museum's 'Tank day' in August. I wonder where that Hetzer with the large square hole in the side, on the low loader, that we saw at Tank fest ended up? I thought SdKfz foundation, but no mention of it on their website.
I wonder where that Hetzer with the large square hole in the side, on the low loader, that we saw at Tank fest ended up? I thought SdKfz foundation, but no mention of it on their website. There's a picture on the Shadock's 'survivors' page: http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_Hetzers_G13.pdf (search 'tankfest' to go to the shot) but no other information than English Private Owner. Can't see the SdKfz foundation wanting a G13...
Can't see the SdKfz foundation wanting a G13... Not in unmodified form certainly, and maybe just as contractors. It's not every private British owner that has the expertise and facilities to undertake a project like that. If you had a rusty G13, where would you go to get it running?
While digging around for where the wrecked G13 at Tankfest might now be I got to thinking about the 3rd one down in that Shadock Hetzer list: http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_Hetzers_G13.pdf It looks like one that's visited Beltring a few times, one of the few surviving Axis vehicles in private hands with a complete wartime service history if I remember. Anyone know who owns it now or any of it's history? Cheers, Adam.
Odd 38(t) based project that I'd not seen before until perusing that site of 3d models: Kätzchen, prototype APC vehicle
Just remembered a good 'Hetzer' site: Welcome to PzFahrer's guide to the Jagdpanzer 38 With good technical stuff and veterans memories. Also views of the Aberdeen vehicle's interior showing just how bad the preservation is on some of their cut open & outside stored vehicles. Autopsy of a Hetzer is a rather strange page following the restoration of Canada's Camp Borden example, but it looks like it might become a good restoration log.
There is a Hetzer for sale on this forum link. For Sale : One (1) German Hetzer Jagdpanzer 38t Tank Destroyer (1945) [Archive] - alt.games.warbirds I wonder if it was sold? Please don't all rush at once Regards Tom

This vehicle (and not only this one) was used by insurgents during Prague uprizing against nazi troops. They took them without armament (and some of them even without gun mounts) in CKD factory in Prague. Some of those vehicles were even either unpainted or painted with primer only. Markings on those "defrocked" Hetzers were very colourful including patriotic slogans, eyes painted on empty gun mount, etc. This particular marking is "nearly original", it was repainted in 1946 when this vehicle was part of National Resistance Memorial. There is a list of crewmembers KIA and wounded during uprising painted on the sideskirt. There is at least one Hetzer incl. gun in Lesany, but I am nearly sure that vehicle is a post war production one. These were in our postwar armed forces inventory for a couple of years and yes, they were exported to Switzerland as G-13 too, with altered armament.
The Hel 'beach' Hetzer in apparently good hands: http://m.trojmiasto.pl/news/wiadomosci/Pancerne-dzialo-w-garazu-w-Brzeznie-n91189.html
