A very interesting speech of Putin.

Though I find I can criticize a few statements here and there, there is a lot of nails he hammers, and his tone surprises me.
More so, it surprises me not to have seen an excerpt of this in the national (dutch, but for the same record Belgian, or even BBc) news.
If Obama yawns with consumption, then it is on the TV all over the world. But not this.

    enjoy the read.

Putin sure knows how to present himself. Remember that this site is for the english speaking audience. :) I suppose the tone for the Russians may be somewhat different.

Quite frankly, I was queesy reading the flagrant lies that this man purpotrates. Telling us he's "Not comfortable with Big Brother United States", and that the "situation in the Ukraine was not started by us."

What a lot of self serving, neo-stalinist claptrap.

The main threat to world peace, to the balance of power, to us all, is Vladimir Putin himself.

I don't care if Russian posters do read this. Cop this then. Your leader is a fraud, with he atributes of Heydrich, Ribbentrop and Himmler all rolled into one.

My German inspired nickname for this menace is the "Vladheini". Only an idiot would idolize Josef Stalin.

Oh dear! Reeks of the Nuremburg rally syndrome - get them close and you really can fool all of the people all of the time. Those with a wider view see the whole picture - and the truth.

I wonder if we'll get to eventually hear him say "Владимир Путин Россия и Россия является Владимир Путин!"

At least he's broken cover now, and the devil has a face. There has been a long-noticed trend in Putin's Russia, dating back a decade or more now, to his interfering with the Russian perception of the war and the world. I remember internet discussions years ago on the re-writing of WWII-era history books, the seizing of the research into deaths in the GULAG system etc...

Well, todays' rolling tanks make a certain sense..given the atrocious economic news coming out of Moscow....

He really IS just following the pages in the "Great Dictator's Big Book" - domestic economic woes...so it's time for another "Flower War"...!
