    My father Dennis Elliott was captured near Osnabruck - 1st Royal Tank Regiment. Blown out of tank by blast at this point he was taken prisoner and sent to Stalag 10B, which was at a place called San Bostel, this was a few miles East of the German Naval Base in Bremerhaven in the far North of Germany. He was liberated by the Grenadier Guards and flown to Brussels and from there in a Lancaster Bomber to RAF base in Buckinghamshire. Does anyone know of this prisoner?

    Hello and welcome the the forum Janis,

    Looking through the book Prisoner of War, British Army, 1939-1945. There are no Elliotts listed as serving with the R.T.R. This book lists British soldiers that were POW's as of March 1945.

    You could contact the "Ex-Prisoners of War Association".

    Prisoner of War 2008

    Good luck!

    My Dad was a prisoner of war at Stalag 10B Sandbostel for 6 weeks towards the end of the war. He was blown out of his tank and taken prisoner.

    Hi Janis;
    I feel what has happened here is that your Father was taken prisoner and not registered with the Red Cross.

    The lists mentioned were not produced until April 1945 and would have taken some time to compile prior to this date.
