hi again all, my uncle was a gunner in hong kong when it fell to the japanese. after months in shamshuipo camp he was herded aboard the lisbon Maru, eventually sunk by the USS Grouper. he died while trying to escape ( either drowned or shot by the japanese ) while researching this, i felt a great deal of sadness caused by the cruelty inflicted on one human by another. just wondered if everyone else feels the same way when doing research, or is it because this story was personal. i would also like to know if anyone has any details of the fall of hong kong? thanks steve
