Thanks Owen, I wasn't sure if it would deserve a thread to itself as I am severely lacking in info so was just wondering if the info was out there. Thanks BFBSM, but all I can tell you at this time is he was called Jack Taylor, Born Bradford around 1920 ( can confirm birth date when I speak to family ) Unfortunately I have no idea of regiment, date of capture or release, all the info I have is anecdotal from when he died 8 years ago. He was a big bloke, over 6 feet and before capture was very well built, boxer etc but on release weighed 7 stones! it would be nice to find anything about what happened to cause such a dramatic change, even with the austerity POW's went through.
Bradlad, I have just carried out the search I have promised and must tell you that there are approximately 653 J Taylor (or variants with J as an initial) in the database. I realise this may seem a dumb request, but do you have any other information, e.g. middle names, was Jack is first name or was it something else and Jack was the name they called him? Was Jack his middle name? This will allow some culling, and I can then provide you with the information I get, regardless of number, and forward the details to you. Mark
