Ah, I remember when I saw the two Panthers in front of Hôtel des Invalides and was surprised how tall they were.

Cheers - that is a nice side-on shot of the field gun featured in my post #10 - I hadn't seen that one before

Bren gun carrier captured and put to use by the Japanese after 1942, then used by Indonesian nationalist forces in 1945 or 1946

It is seen here guarded by an Indian soldier in Surabaya (Soerabaja), the Netherlands East Indies after capture by British forces

Despite signing a pact with the Soviet Union in November 1956 which provided access to Russian armaments Syria (the Syrian Republic) procured a range of German WW2 AFVs from Spain, France and Czechoslovakia in the 1950s - 1960s

The procurement included 72 Panzer IV tanks / 70 Sturmgeschütz III SPGs / 6 Jagdpanzer IV/48 tank destroyers - note all would have mounted a 75mm gun

Many C15TAs were employed by the police forces of the Federation of Malaya - which may explain one of my WTF photos

Twitter has two photos that appear to be from Armed Forces Day in Burma. One appears to have a slightly modified Bren Gun carrier, followed by a WW2 era tank (Comet?) and a real mix in photo 2. Twitted by @fromtheranks

Let's see: at least two Comets, three Humber Mk IV armored cars, at least three Windsor or T16 carriers...I do know that Burma (I refuse to call it Myanmar) kept the Comets in service into the 1970s, long after everybody else. I think we have a WWII-equipment-postwar thread somewhere. I must say the vehicles look to be in great shape.

The carriers are T16s. Look at the suspension bogies. In the Windsor, the springs On both sets of bogies are angled upwards front to rear. In the T16 as here the springs in the front bogies angle upwards front to rear, and the springs in the rear bogies angle downwards from front to rear.

Interesting photos and thanks. However I think the third one, with the Panhard with APX turret was taken in Burma, at least that's the credit I've seen for it previously. John
