Does anyone have access to any information to confirm the registration of the below aircraft http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=17708&d=1245441367 Buccaneer Mk1 XN 934 of 800 Sqdn ready to launch from HMS EAGLE in October 1965. Lt.Cdr. Chase USN (P) and Lt. Markley USN (O). (John Stevens) Bit of a strange incident two US navy officers on loan had some sort of system failure preventing the aircraft from landing (If I remember rightly the Buccaneer had fully blown flaps and any problems here and the aircraft could not land at sea) . Anyway the two Yanks did some showboating in the doomed aircraft, much to the annoyance of the navy officers as the ship healed over as the crew ran from side to side. In the end they ejected and where picked up by the SAR wessex. After huge cheerrs from the 'goofers' the remains of the aircraft where fished out. I have some information that this is the wrong aircraft pictured here and it was aicraft 107 that crashed. Can anyone tell me the history of 800 squadron Buccaneers embarked upon HMS Eagle, aircraft 106 (xn934) or 107 (reg unknown)? Kev
