Anyone have a good photo of this place ? I've just read about Stephen Grady, the son of an IWGC gardener, who was in the French Resistance in WW2 and hid weapons in the cemetery. I was wondering where exactly they hid the weapons. From The Children Who Fought Hitler page 256. We dug this pit in the centre of one of the bastions in the cemetery and covered it with corrugated iron sheets and soil , then made a narrow access shaft under the foundations. We stored arms here for distribution to three or four local Resistance groups , taking them round by handcart with an armed guard.
Over 3 years later I have the answer cos I bought his book. Has a photo of cemetery with caption saying where they were hidden. https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?productId=372419&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&searchTerm=gardens+of+stone
