Not to funny but @Nick Pringle just to sell your book? Make a poll here you will still have you signature and we can actually see what ww2 peeps think about it.

Not having a go if I could write a book half as good as yours I would be doing the same thing but hey I like the reply girl.

I might buy it next pay day but it is March longest pay day to pay day.

I set up a poll page on my website, added the link, then offered my opinion asking others what they thought. Response - whinging about 'advertising', then setting up another poll at the top of page with 2 choices not 3 after people had started voting on the other one. No opinions in answer to the question, just a load of random comments. Forget I ever asked.

    The poll.
    On your website.
    Didn't/doesn't work.

The link given wasn't even to the page where the invisible poll should be, but to your main book-flogging page.
Forgive us our cynicism, but in this instance I feel it's entirely understandable.

I see one of the mods has added a poll here... I can guess how it might go given that we've endured the grey wolf nonsense recently.

Thanks Owen, that is what I was hoping people would do, but it seems it wasnt that simple. I did just link to the page with the poll and NOT the homepage, but as I said this forum has a funny way of showing hyperlinks, the only forum I have come across where the web address automatically switches to the description tag of the page when you add your post.

Now they've set up a poll at the top of this thread page people are voting there instead 6 now in total. The reason I posted the poll on my site here was because I thought some of the readers might like to take part. Its not just a poll asking ww2talk members, I'm hoping to get people answering from various sources such as Twitter etc and run it for a few weeks or couple of months to get a good number of responses from a wide range of people. All those answering the poll at the top will now not be included in the results, which defeats the point of the post.

I thought the question alone defeated the point, Nick. I thought this forum was about WWII not fantasy.

Did you set up the poll to get traffic for your book or are are interested in who killed Hitler? Or am I too cynical?

This hitler did he/ did he not survive malarkey is old hat and complete what iffery syndrome.
Even if deemed a bit of fun it fails to hit the spot.

I must say I don't really understand the point you're trying to make or the point of your poll. It's verging on a 'What If' and you are so on the wrong site for those I'm afraid.
