If anyone wants to help Jos.

I have a list from Jos of the UK cemeteries with Polish War Dead. I have marked those already photographed, though many of the larger cemeteries are incomplete.

All the Kent Graves have been photographed.

    Susan_F[at]live.co.uk for a copy.

    Clive,

Jos told me he has problems downloading. It would be better to e-mail photographs to him. I have used the War Cemetery list on his website as the basis for listing the Cemeteries photographed but he may not have posted all those he has received.

There are about 240 Cemeteries listed. Only 60 have been photographed, with some of the larger Cemeteries incomplete. It is easier to e-mail the table to those willing to help Jos. However if you wish, please go ahead and post the requirements. I have great problems posting tables.

There are over 2,000 Polish War Dead buried in the U.K. These people are not given the courtesy of being acknowledged on the CWGC web-site. Jos’ website is a tribute to their sacrifice.

    Hi

I have started to upload Polish War Graves found in the UK, Finding them is just luck, but when I do they are photographed. I will be going up to Newark on Trent soon, to do those in the cemetery.
This link is to the site I have them on. Polish Forces - Military Photos Images Pictures Discussion

Jos only uses photographs that are sent to him specifically for use on Polish War Graves. He gathers information about the person behind each photograph sent to him. This biographical detail result in each gravestone becoming more than just a name.

When I was walking around Cemeteries looking for War Memorials to absent relatives on family graves. I was aware of the lonely Polish grave. I sent photographs of these to Jos and he sent me a list of Cemeteries with Polish graves. All the Polish graves in Kent are now on his website.

When this thread started I went through Jos’ website and removed those cemeteries that had been photographed from the list. I found there were 200 cemeteries to be photographed, over 100 of these had just 1 or 2 Polish graves. There are 15 Polish Graves in 8 Gloucestershire Cemeteries.

This list has been sent to AndyBaldEagle, CL1 and Roxy. If you want a copy please e-mail me at Susan_F[at]live.co.uk. I am NOT acting as a co-ordinator, deal directly with Jos his e-mail is – Jos[at]avalphen.nl.

There are 397 Polish graves at Newark on Trent. I know Jos has received photographs of some of these and is working through them.

    Best Wishes
    Susan
