Anyone interested in Polish military badges should try to obtain a copy of the auction catalogue by La Galerie Numismatique, for their auction in London on 26 Sept. 2005 of a fantastic collection. The catalogue is a high quality glossy publication and each badge is described and has a full-size photograph. 178 pages and 962 badges. Having bid in a previous auction, I was sent a free copy and it is worthy of inclusion in any library. I don't collect Polish badges, but if I won the lottery I think I would buy the lot; very impressive. Steve
Can someone please let me know if this badge is authentic? Thank you in advance. http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-POLISH-PARA-BADGE-SCOTTISH-MADE_W0QQitemZ6637191622QQcategoryZ69686QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It looks authentic for me, especially description. Today very similar badges are using by Polish paras, but they are little different. http://idg.allegro.pl/show_item.php?item=111602758#photo Here you can see example of authentic badge, unfortunately there is only one picture. http://medals.mckdesign.com/store/display.php?ID=1972
The description is very poor indeed so I'm not sure if you really think the badge is fake or authentic. It is difficult to find any reliable information about these badges. medals.mckdesign.com sells the same type of badges yet other users at sites like: www.wehrmacht-awards.com state that they are fake. GR.TECH.LONDON produced the first 2700 and KIRKWOOD&SON.EDINBURGH the rest yet the numbering of Kirkwood badges appears to start from 1, if this badge and medals.mckdesign.com badges are authentic.
