I am a Dutch military history enthusiast whose is researching details of a fatal accident involving two British Army units close to my home town of Tubbergen in Eastern Holland on the 6 September, 1945

The accident occurred while two British Army units were destroying German ammunition and an explosion occured badly injurying atleast one soldier who was taken to a hospital in Nijmegen where he died.

One of the units involved was 215 Company Pioneer Corps, the other a RAOC Independent Ammunition Ordnance Company which might have been 52 or 54

Can anyone help me identify the RAOC Company and in particular more information of the soldier killed as a result of the explosion? The information from the soldier (CWGC information):

    Rank: Private
    Service No: 13110957
    Date of Death: 13-09-1945
    Age: 22
    Regement/Service: Pioneer Corps / 215 Coy.

    Thank you for your reactions

Thank you for your reactions. I went to the grave of the soldier in Groesbeek last summer, so the place I know. Where i'm looking for is information about of 54 Independent Ammunition Ordnance Company RAOC who could have been the custodial unit at a fatal accident involving 215 Company Pionier Corps at Tubbergen in Holland in early September 1945 (there is no War Diary for the unit in the WO 171 Series at Kew)

Some information about the 6th. Canadian Casulty Clearing Station is welcome too, because we found the name in the investigation too.

    Thank you

Found the 52 and 215 Company War Diaries when I visited Kew on Mark's behalf last week (52 Company was based over the Border in Wulfen in September 1945 but missed the 54 Company reference (excuse being it is shown as a GD Company not specialist Ammunition Company)

Will add your reference to my archive shopping list for my next visit to Kew
