Good afternoon,I am looking for any information that I can find on the Polish pilot Tadeusz Jankowski. What is confusing is that there are apparently two graves with the same name, one in Holland, the other in America. One of them may have been shot down at some point in France and I would like to find out where and which one. I have tried to see if there is like a Polish version of the CWGC but have not found anything? Is anyone able to help? One of them was in 315 squadron.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I've got the same information as Alieneyes from the Polishwargraves website.

    Name: JANKOWSKI Tadeusz
    Rank: sierż.
    Service: 780386
    Born: 21.1.1919 Staroźreby p. Płock
    Unit: R.A.F. Polish
    Regiment: 315 Sqdn.
Date of death: 20.9.1944, Jutphaas, the Netherlands
Initially buried: Roman Catholic Cemetery, Jutphaas, the Netherlands
Today buried: Breda, Polish War Cemetery
    Grave: E.4.7.

Mustang FB 367 crashed during bombardment of
    Leerdam, the Netherlands.

Two graves with different dates of birth and death, the second, died in 2012 at the age of 90? The 1944 casualty was a Sergeant and the survivor was a Pilot Officer.

A fairly common name in Poland I believe.

It is in that case the survivor I am probably interested in unless the other one crashed, survived and returned to his squadron. Do we know where the survivor crashed?

Sier T Jankowski Polish Air Force of 315 Squadron, was shot down by flak & crashed 3km east of Jutphaas 14:30 hrs 20 Sept 1944. He was flying in a Mustang in support of Operation Market Garden. Sadly a local child who was helping to bring in the harvest was kiiled in the crash.

The prisoner, how can we find out details of what happened for him to be caught?

I wish to know about this prisoner also.
IF he is who I think he is, his story gets even more interesting. I don't see where he died.
Where and how did this entry come from?
