Hi,Im new to this site and im in need of help with a ?Im trying to build a real pillbox in my back yard. Im not trying to build a bunker such as in verdon but just a small pillbox id say 10-15 or so and about 8ft deep with walls coming out of the ground about 2ft high and then all concreate roof. can anyone help me with blueprints for this task?
my first job was a carpender my second an iron worker plus my boss now has 20 years of cement and mason work under his belt on top of that i have the and ability to get the backhoe cement mixer and other things i may need i just need plans.
I'm sure there must be some around somewhere. On the Channel Islands edition of Coast they were looking at plans of German fortifications - I know you probably dont want to build the atlantic wall, but shows that the plans are still around

Good man Mauser, a commendable initiative. I've got some very basic plans for standard British Pillboxes (and a few other german types), will scan them in... When I can find the scanner.
I like Pillboxes too. I certainly have enough land to site one on. I'd ~ even I'd ~ have to ask myself " Why? " though. I mean; What would one Do with it? Anyway, that's your business. One or two sites listed on the right hand side of the main page should give ye a fair idea of the various spec's.

The Type 22 would be the sort of size you're looking for and is the classic hexagonal pillbox. Google 'Type 22 pillbox' andsome decent plans might turn up. Plenty of other types but they may take up more space than you've got. Or, why not avoid the planners and go for an underground Auxiliary Operational Base?
I love ww2 history as well as my 5 year old son and my 9 year old son . When i was a kid my brother and i always dug holes n the woods and pretended that we where in pillboxes but ofcourse we never had the means do do somthing that grand .Not too many pillboxes n Tx. So im going to make it happen for my sons to play n also as a storm cellar or maybe in lite of the way the world is going . Seems to me if youv'e got the land,time means do it ,do it.
