This little coal tit looked badly out of shape after hitting our window. His left leg was behind his ear and his wings were all over the place, but his eye were open. I picked him up to be sure he didn't get nabbed by a roaming cat, and to benefit from the warmth of my hand. After about 5 minutes he suddenly went "Ahh, where am I" and flew off. (I guess that's what you call concussion) A few days have passed and I still see him feeding on the patio, so hopefully no bad internal injuries. (p.s. we both got very wet in the rain!)

Ok, I know it says back garden, but is inside the house alright? I will leave you to judge the size in relation to the coving, Happy Christmas to one and all.
Not a picture but we were serenaded all summer by a pair of Great Horned owls. That background sound is the rushing river.
I also found this photogenic beast, fed him an earwig as a thank you for posing. The spread from the tips of of legs 2 to 7 I'd estimate at around 14 cms.
My wife and I work from the same room in the house. I think she just sh@t herself. Teach her for looking over my shoulder
