A friend asked for help, so I'm sending an ...---... to you good people:

Dear (Opana), my very good friend is having some medals mounted. The medals are from his granddad, who served on the HMCS Hood. He found a fuzzy old photo of the ship, intending it as a companion piece to be framed with the medals, but I was hoping that you might have a source for a better image.
    Here are the granddad's medals...

Any chance you could help this stranger out?

ID and source would be great if available. Thanks in advance.

(Okay to move if there's a better spot for this, of course.)

the left hand star is the Africa Star - the ribbon is backwards as the NAVY Blue represents the Royal Navy - Senior Service the Red for the British Army and the light Blue for the RAF
Junior service so - Navy Blue near centre of chest- other star is Atlantic Star - looks about right but the experts will set that straight
    Cheers

Just one little point in that Campaign STARS - always precede other medals-
so a full award would be -1939/45 STAR - Africa STAR - ITaly STAR - Burma STAR -
France & Germany STAR - Defence MEDAL - 1939/45 MEDAL

interspersed by the Atlantic and Pacific STARS
    Cheers
