If only we knew then. Late 60s Winchester, opposite the Rifle depot there was a 'flea market' type shop, a lot of old military badges various headdress, in fact you name it he would sell it. Then he decided to retire, a notice - make me an offer! I bought and sold later a hall marked silver Rifle Brigade cap badge and made a fair profit. Told later that all of the boxes of buttons, badges and miscellaneous bit and bobs were unceremoniously dumped into the back of a dust cart! I am sure this still goes on with valuable photographs especially.
Not totally sure, but I think the 4th photo is a photo of the E1 draw at St.Laurent on Omaha Beach. At the left of the photo, I believe that is the E1 draw to St.Laurent. You can see the H667 bunker as well as the distinctive curve at the rear of the road towards St. Laurent. The curved anti tank ditch is also apparent at the mouth of the draw.
