Very interesting finds vespa100, especially as so little seems to exist in terms of MID's and citations/reasons for these awards.
I've only ever seen the certificate notification for a MID, so these documents are new to me.

It appears he was Royal Corps of Signals and BAOR - might be worth contacting member Drew5233 as he is ex Signals and may still have contacts or write to the Signals museum and ask them.

Historic Steve Researching 21 Army Group/BAOR post VE day

Cpl Wood's unit post May 45 would have been 1 Special Wireless Group, arrived Minden Jun 45 renamed 1 Special Wireless Regiment then Aug 46 moved to Peterborough Barracks Gluckstadt near Hamburg and renamed 1 Wireless Regiment in 1947, then moved to Nelson Barracks Münster Feb 50.

You can get the history of the unit here http://www.birgelenvets.org/ the trade was later known as Special Operator, regarding the Royal Signal Museum the Wire magazine only started up again Dec 46 well after his discharge, by the way GHQ 2 Echelon was in Brussels moving to Adams Barracks Hamburg early 46.

    Hope this helps
    Steve
