Photos of field graves before concentration to military cemeteries.

    I've come across different letters and documents in relation to the GRUs, grave registration units saying all graves will be photographed and 2 copies sent to next of kin. As they are not GCU (grave concentration units) I presume this means field graves before bodies were exhumed and concentrated in military cemeteries.

    Is anybody aware of this taking place, or indeed perhaps have copies of these photos themselves?

    I am in particularly interested in photos taken of the "Tieghem roadside cemetery" in Flanders.

    But confirmation that these photographs were taken in general would make me happy.
