I've come across different letters and documents in relation to the GRUs, grave registration units saying all graves will be photographed and 2 copies sent to next of kin. As they are not GCU (grave concentration units) I presume this means field graves before bodies were exhumed and concentrated in military cemeteries. Is anybody aware of this taking place, or indeed perhaps have copies of these photos themselves? I am in particularly interested in photos taken of the "Tieghem roadside cemetery" in Flanders. But confirmation that these photographs were taken in general would make me happy.
