Hi all, i am very new to this and have spent many a hours researching the Presisent Doumer. I am actually looking for photos of the crew members, one member in particular. Robert Simon details with i have been able to obtain: 1. SIMON , Able Seaman, ROBERT, S.S. President Doumer (Aden). Merchant Navy 2. 30th October 1942. Age 24. I have been sent this photo & info from a relative of a crew member via the forum admin email address. Casualty Details William Constable Born January, 1908 in Colchester, Essex, England. His rank was : RN (C/JX No. 266179) Able Seaman (DEMS gunner) onboard troopship m.v. President Doumer, which was torpedoed and sunk, by UB604, Either off the coast of Newfoundland or whilst in convoy on the Baltic Sea? William Constable died aged 34, on 30th October, 1942, lost at sea.
