I am researching a war memorial, and hope to get photos of the graves or memorials of all those named. I am looking for the following graves: (List deleted) Post edited to remove the names, as I have now obtained photographs of all the graves I was looking for. Michael

If anyone can help with photos, I would be very grateful. I am to photograph 27 WW I graves on the island of Lemnos myself next month, for members of the Great War forum. There is only one WW II grave on the island, so I doubt if I can help this group. Michael
I will be visiting Hteukkyan Cemetary in Burma in October. If anyone would like photographs taken, I will be very happy to oblige. My Fathers brother from 1St Btn Nothamptonshire Reg is buried there, he was killed 17th April 1945. I am continually searching for any information re his service in Burma, Amanda
Belville, I was at Benghazi and Medjez el Bab within the last month, I can only send general shots if you wish. Contact me by email if you wish. Regards MF

Regards MF [/b] Many thanks for your offers of photos. I have been in touch by e-mail. It's news to me that the C.W.G.C. will take photos of any grave on request. I'll follow it up with them for some of the others on my list. Belville
This is the reply I received from the C.W.G.C. about photos of graves and memorials. The service seems appropriate only for relatives, not those of us who may be resaerching a group of casualties. "The Commission is not able to operate a formal photographic service to the general public, for the provision of photographs of graves, names on memorials or general views of cemeteries and memorials. We will, however, accept requests from interested individuals. This involves asking a member of our supervisory staff to take the photograph when they next visit the cemetery or memorial and you should be aware that this may not be for many months. I should also like to point out that the photograph will not be of a professional quality and, of course, there may be poor weather or light conditions when it is taken. Bearing this in mind, if you are unable to obtain a photograph through any other means and wish us to take one for you, please forward me details of the casualty and I will send you a photographic request form to complete and return one copy of the form to us. The photograph will be provided free of charge, although you may, if you wish, make a donation. Belville
There is a group of people who have set out to photograph ALL War Graves of Canadians. I realize that your list is not Canadian but they may be able to help you out if they have someone in the area. Direct link, I am unable to supply but it is the Maple Leaf Memory Project.
Hello , Do any members by any chance live near Reichswald Forest cemetery. An old lady has just found that her great uncle is buried there. It would be lovely to have a photo of grave. Regards Alan
This is a rather positive project to photograph every British war grave as an 'online memorial': http://www.britishwargraves.org.uk/ they have a large archive already & also attempt to fulfil requests. Could be well worth a look. Cheers, Adam.
