Whilst trawling the internet I stumbled on an article by my old hometown local Newspaper, The Lancashire Evening Post, which is published in Preston.

Nazis planned to invade Preston - Lancashire Evening Post

Blackpool would never have been the same if the plan worked out!

    Regards

    Rob,
You are not mistaken I remember reading the same article and Blackpool was to become an R+R centre for troops.

I realise that Blackpool is not everyone cup of tea, but it does have lots of beach and also TRAMS :D

    Regards

I've read that too! We can't all be imagining it then. Wonder where it appeared?

Nearest beach to me is Sligo, as far as I understand. Bloody miles away. Shame really; I have a donkey ..... :D
