Apologies if this has been asked and answered, but no luck searching for this. Does anyone have experience with researching Part II Orders and understand if/how they are catalogued at Kew? I am looking specifically for a Canadian Bn in the Occupation Army (4 Bn Regina Rifles 1945-1946), but experience with any unit could be helpful. I have found the war diaries for this unit, but am not certain if Part II Orders would be included. They are typically not in the Canadian Archives. Thanks
I would be very surprised if Part II/III orders were kept - there would be plenty of them! Every soldier and officer occurrence in a unit is published on these orders, courses, pay, postings and a hundred and one other occurrences, multiply that by 900 hundred or so men in a battalion sized unit.
