I am writing this post because I am researching Stanislaw Antoni Slesicki who was in the third brigade of the 1st Independant Polish Brigade and was briefly engaged to my late mother when they met in Glasgow when he came to train. He was killed at Arnhem 22/09/1934 age 37. His army no was 02001. I am hoping that someone reading this may have had relatives who served in the third brigade and may have knowledge of him. I have managed to get hold some of his papers which gives me an insight into what he did. I am also hoping that someone might have photographs of the third brigade before he died. Any information would be helpful.
There is a public family tree on Ancestry for him: Stanislaw Antoni Slesicki Birth: 29/03/1907 (29 Mar 1907) - Poland Death: 22/09/1944 (22 Sep 1944) - Arnhem, Netherlands F: Boleslaw Slesicki M: Helena Artke TD edited to add: STANISLAW ANTONI SLESICKI 1907–1944 BIRTH 29/03/1907 • CIECHANOW, WARSAW, POLAND DEATH 22/09/1944 • ARNHEM, NETHERLANDS 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade | ParaData
Thank you for your reply and I do have him on ancestry and have most of the information I need. However, I was hoping to hear from anyone who had relatives in the same brigade who had a story to tell, not just about him but about the brigade itself.
