Australia's first actions of the 1914-1918 war occurred on 11th September 1914 when its troops captured the German wireless station at Bitapaka (near to Rabaul). That location is now occupied by the CWGC Rabaul War Cemetery - Papua New Guinea.

This post (and attached images) are: In support of the Centenary of WW1; In response to a number of requests from Australia to publish all images online; To remind us all of those immortal words ''Lest We Forget''...Salud!
    note: 33 images attached.

    1. Original-size images available on request.
    2. TIBBY is buried in LAE War Cemetery and died in December 1914
    3. Apologies for the condition of these grave-markers but, I do believe that they have all now been renovated by the CWGC.

All above images (and originals) are now available - FREE - to family members, relatives, researchers and historians. When asked, I normally suggest that you make a donation to a Forces Charity of your own choice.

Equally, all images - posted/distributed by me - are not to be used for commercial and/or financial gain. If in doubt, contact me - Thank You.
