Here's a photo gallery for the above mentioned formation: Panzer Artillery Regiment 78 in Russia, 1941/1942: Photo Collection
Ger, Some interesting photographs. The sections from Tanks onwards refuses to open up for me for some reason. Regards Tom
Nice find old chap. Huge collection. Wonder if someone can look up those names on the grave markers ? Got to Luftwaffe section then images are just red crosses in white boxes. EDIT: OK I can them all this morning, most excellent selection of pics.
From the Grave Photos section I can only make out the 2 main names - Info held in the Volksbund Database: Hermann Kern Nachname: Kern Vorname: Hermann Dienstgrad: Gefreiter Geburtsdatum: 25.08.1912 Geburtsort: Vockenhausen Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 26.01.1942 Todes-/Vermisstenort: Kolesnicki Gschatsk Hermann Kern ist vermutlich als unbekannter Soldat auf die Kriegsgräberstätte in Rshew - Sammelfriedhof (Rußland) überführt worden. Feldwebel Muhlfeldner - not listed
Now that I can view all of the link I saw this photograph and thought it had a ghost like quality. The soldier standing at the side of the tank, looks very much like a semi-transparent ghostly apparition. Regards Tom
