I will be visiting Padua War Cemetery in August. My husband is visiting his uncles grave, he was a corporal in the RAF.

I would be more than happy to take pictures for anyone who requires some from this cemetery.

    Kassap -
while in Padua do try and visit the Cathedral dedicated to St Anthony of Padua and look at the magnificent mosaic to St Maximilliam Kolbe by Annagoni - it is in the entrance foyer and is stunningly beautiful - and well worth a picture - which I failed to get on my visit there.....

    Hello Kazzap,

Thank you for the kind offer as it is very much appreciated. I have six RAAF lads and another who was an Australian serving in the RAF.

One of those was Robert Alexander Denholm:

:) Hello from Padua. This is my first post to this site - I hope I get it right. I wouldn't want to step on any toes, but I am also available for getting individual photos from the Padua Cemetery - and possibly some of the sites surrounding the Padua area. I suspect some of you know, all of the markers are available for viewing on The War Graves Photographic Project website. The Mapleleaf Legacy Project website says they have pictures for the 15 Canadian markers, but have not posted them to date.

    http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=81&pictureid=628

Again, I didn't intend to preempt KAZZAP's offer, but this morning I sent ANDYBALDEAGLE photos of the markers shown in his post - along with a few general shots of the cemetery itself. It's quite likely I'll still be here in Padua in August KAZZAP, if there's any tips about Padua and area I can offer.

I plan to return, when the spring foliage is out, to get more pictures.

I welcome emails, MSN or SKYPE contacts; and check them regularly.

Again KAZZAP, I only snapped the photos ANDYBALDEAGLE was looking for as I had to visit the cemetery and had to make some test shots. I was unable to post to this site until today.

Hello from Canada. I would appreciate, as mentioned at the top of this thread the shot of Burnham Thorp's grave stone, for while it may be available on the CWGC site, it does not reproduce well.... Please put a poppy there if you can. His brother is a friend.
    thanks.

Hello Recce Mitch. I just sent MilitaryCross an email to let him know, I'm just waiting for a little better weather, and then I'm planning to cllect the photos requested here so far. This includes the ones requested by Spidge. If all three of you haven't heard from me by eary April, I suspect it was because of a technical glitch sending the pictures as attachments or similar. If you can find my email on my profile here, Recce Mitch and Spidge, you could drop me a short note so I'll have yours handy when the time comes to email them.

You can expect two or three pics of each marker, a few general shots of the cemetery itself - all in jpg format.

    Greetings to all!:salut:
Since our parents fought most of the WW II in "exile" - in fact we had a legal goverment & legal army so it was not called "Free" or something (no offence ment)- every year we visit Italy, In September a comemorative service is held at our Military Cemetary in Ricione. In the line of my studies ,& Duty, I have visited many W.Cemetaries in the area of Rimini, Ricione, Passo di Futa, Forli & others (both Allied & Axis). I shall hapilly provide any photo if place is specified (also format copmression etc, acceptable to the site).
This is my 1st posting, so I ask for your tolerance! Later on I shall explain my lines of studies & I'll halilly acept any help offered!
    My best to all!

Thank you for the offer of photographs at Padua Cemetery. Please would you take a photograph of the grave of Pte Timothy O'Brien 5626370 / 1st Royal Sussex Regiment
    Grave Ref: II.A.13
Pte O'Brien's sister has not been able to visit his grave. She has a photograph of her brother's original grave, a cross in a sea of churned mud, but, with your help, I would like to give her a photograph of how the grave looks now with the CWGC landscaping.

Hi Stalag, I was just checking this thread...as I am trying to make time to take some pictures tomorrow. If I get there, I will include your request. I have a list of about 12 to be done, and will eventually try to contact you for your email so I can send you electronic copies of the photos. You can try to contact me on here and message me the email address where I could send the pictures.

Just a note to Reece Mitch, Spidge, Military Cross and StalagIVB, to let you know I have just emailed the photos you requested with a couple of extra shots of the cemetery itself. I have a few other interesting shots of the cemetery, and will gladly make them available whenever possible.

I repeat, the grounds are well maintained and in a peaceful place. Although the offcial register of visitors at the entrance is much fuller than might be imagined.

I hope you manage to find some satisfaction from the photos and remain Fraternally Yours

I was able to share Thorp's picture with his brother today and he was extremely thankful for the time and effort you went to.

    Bravo Zulu.
