Hi all, I ordered some resin scale model kits from a fellow in the UK which haven't arrived yet. I've been having trouble with email with the seller (which seem legitimate - he said he's been having trouble because of the recent storms). He has sent me a tracking number which the Royal Mail site doesn't recognize. I haven't heard back from him since Wednesday. I thought of asking here what other companies I ought to try, but I decided to try that myself - no luck with a number of them, but one of them said that the tracking number, which starts with LB, followed by nine digits, and the ending with GB, was a Royal Mail tracking number. I was wondering if anyone knows about these things and can confirm that?
Chris Did he say he sent it via Royal Mail? Royal Mail Parcelforce https://www.parcelforce.com/help-and-advice/sending-worldwide/tracking-number-formats International tracking of exports 2 letters and 9 numbers and GB (e.g. AA123456789GB other major couriers although when I ship abroad I always use Royal Mail DPD Hermes DHL
Also maybe try the number in 17 Track. I often have more luck there than the named company's site with international stuff. ALL-IN-ONE PACKAGE TRACKING | 17TRACK
Crud. Well, the all in one tracking site confirmed, Royal Mail - just as Owen confirmed - and it's still an unknown number to them. So presuuuuumably he mistyped it... or something worse. Thank you for the help
Did you order direct from him or via eBay? Sellers on that site often enter a reference/transaction code which is not an actual tracking code and won't work on the Royal Mail site. I have one on the way now, in fact. In general, international mail has operated at varying degrees of ****** ** for about two years now.
Directly from him. I guess I don't have as much experience with international packages in the past two years as with letter mail. I ordered two things on eBay recently - one of them a set of original Archer stowage diagrams - and they arrived promptly. But they went by air, and maybe this is coming by sea.
If its been sent "International Economy" the Royal Mail say up to six weeks for North America. If a correct format tracking number has been provided and is not recognised, then that would be a cause for concern.
I'm happy to have a look any number you get if you want to PM it to me. I spent many years on internet based fraud (as an activist against it, not a perpetrator!). Entirely your choice of course.
