    Hi

I've recently started photographing and recording Second World War casualties on war memorials across Oxfordshire. This includes parts of the county which were formally in Berkshire (eg: Vale of the White Horse, etc).

If anyone is looking for photos of specific memorials, or has information on relatives they know are commemorated on memorials in the county then I'd be happy to hear from you.

There are already a number of well researched books and sites about memorials in the county, such as:

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi

Thanks for the offer Clive. I actually have most of these, and I plan to visit the others shortly.
I am hoping that I'll be able to host the photos and list of names online at some point.
So far I have been surprised how many local men were lost during the campaign in France and Belgium in 1940. Not just from the local county regiments (OBLI and Royal Berkshire) but also from other regiments too. One small village lost two men in a week - one is buried at Wormhoudt, the other recorded on the Dunkirk memorial.

    Cheers
    Matt
