An overview of the ships who took part on D-day http://www.backtonormandy.org/forum/27-changelog-of-back-to-normandy/1421-25-october-2014.html
There is a document in existence that show the exact position of ever class of ship around Southampton water per invasion. I have a copy somewhere here in my house.
Fred, This maybe what Sapper is talking about. There are four sheets, but I am having trouble loading the attachments, so I will send you the first. Roy
Hello Roy, nice to see you here! I thinks it looks great to make the first records with positions. I presume it is June 5th 1944?
Roy Sincere thanks for posting that information. Any idea where LST229 would have been. My dad was on that one!
I will post the other three sheets tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't think the LSTs are shown individually.
Roy Delay? What delay? This information is treasure to me and well worth the wait. THANK YOU most sincerely for the information. Steve
I made a category for (almost) every ship. I am looking forward to more information/photos, etc. about these ships. Once more the link: http://www.backtonormandy.org/the-history/navy-operations/ships.html I'll try to adjust all the positions of the ships. Looking forward to all feedback. I know, there is not much information about these heroes.
The map with GPS locations is ready. Not all the ships are identified yet. Work in progress You can find the map here: http://www.backtonormandy.org/themes/896-the-solent.html Thanks to all who helped me with this!
