I hope everyone understands, that all 'site-issues' are being put aside somewhat until the software move goes ahead.

These repeat niggles ought to be sorted in that 'clean slate' process - doubtless to be replaced by more short-term issues with the new software!

Go on, admit it: some of you missed the place.

    Apologies.
Apparently, too many backups were allowed to clog up the server.
    The Gröfaz has restored order.

I didn't just miss the place, I was worried. Still worried now to get the email addresses of numerous posters, in case the site were to disappear.

I did begin to wonder if the site server was somewhere in Florida, and taking a beating from the weather.

    So pleased service is resumed.

Kind regards, and cache clearing, always,

    Jim.

    Hurrah!

I was thinking whether I should email one or two of the guys here whose addresses I have, to see if it was just me. Something strangely reassuring if we were all in it together, you see. Very happy to see all yer ugly mugs again.

Well that was a bit of a worry eh, the forum unavailable for a few hours and a lot of us panicking thinking maybe this is the end.

It's got me thinking how we take for granted what Otto does for us, and it's certainly a lot, considering it costs him an arm and a leg to keep it running.

What does the forum mean to me?
If it wasn't here, I wouldn't have met or been in touch with some of the great guys (and a special gal) on here. During a particularly difficult time for me some time ago, members I've been in touch with but never met, supported me either by email or private message, for which I was very grateful.

Then there's two members I've actually met. Rob, Buteman and of course Owen, who are great guys and very supportive. (By the way, if anyone gets to meet Owen, make sure you take some biscuits for him, can't remember if it's bourbon or fig biscuits he loves, but I took custard creams as well just in case :-P)
    .
It would be an awful shame if the forum wasn't here, so I'm sure the moderators won't mind me adding a link for anyone who would like to become a "Patron ' and give a few quid to Otto to thank him again for what he does.
(No obligation at all to contribute, the forum is free and always will be ).
