Thanks Adam, thought it was at my end but it seems a bit strange.
Seems to affect WW2Talk most but also Hotmail to a lesser extent. Pages either partially load or load with an error message.
Have run AVG and Malware but will also do CCleaner and full shut down and reboot. If it persists I will let you know.
Might be time to change computer!

Come on, you're not doing a proper CCleaner sweep until you run the Drive Wiper :D

Revo Uninstaller's Junk files cleaner is still the handiest and quickest way I've found to tidy up clogged pooters.
Spring clean for the registry, to the extent it's bought a couple of laptops that ran like they were full of porridge back to an acceptable level.

Yes, very handy. I also run Wise Disk Cleaner and Registry Cleaner weekly on a Saturday night, followed by the defrag option in Wise Disk Cleaner. Only takes about 5 minutes and I can go off to bed and leave the defrag to shut it down. Ten-year-old lappie still running beautifully ...

Sorry if this has already been posted, but when I click on India & Burma it takes me back to the homepage.

Hi Dale (love that username by the way, I hope Hank & Boomhauer are well, though I imagine Dale wouldn't really care...).

Seems OK on several different browsers.
I see you're on Firefox 5 - might be worth clearing the cache or cookies and trying again.

    Apologies chaps.
I ran an attachment search in the admin CP as part of the hunt for Ron's missing picture, and it appears the Engines couldna take it - hence the DB error displayed.

All looks to be right again now.

    Mea Culpa,

Since I changed my computer due to my old ones dying on me, my new one is running with Windows 7 and I installed Firefox as an explorer.

This has for some reason caused me much frustration due to slow running and disconnections when for example working on this forum website.

Two days ago I downloaded Microsoft IE9 and the problem has disappeared and it is now a pleasure using the internet.

Any member care to comment on possible causes for the problems with Firefox? as I am not so computer literate as a lot of our members.

    Regards
    Tom

Tom: if they only happen here, disconnections may occur if you don't have "keep me logged in" selected in your preferences, but if it's a more general problem it may be due to your antivirus and/or firewall settings. Firefox should be noticeably faster than IE though. Without knowing your exact system setup it's difficult to know - I'm also not familiar with W7: if you're getting any problems with Firefox, I'd recommend asking at mozillaZine Forums which is a user community. You can post in the Firefox Support forum without needing to register.

Thanks for the response. I just found it strange that IE9 works so well compared to the Firefox without changing anything, not that I would know what to change:).

I did not want to fiddle about and end up wrecking this setup!! as it is working fine.

Is anyone else experiencing very slow loading and pages not completely loading? I'm also seeing high CPU usage at 40-50%, occasionally maxing out.

I've noticed it getting worse over the past few days and tonight it's slower than ever. I'm using my usual Firefox 8 beta on XP Pro SP3, but get the same problem on IE8, which looks like it may never complete! In fact, it's stalled.

    I have tried:

1 Deleted site cookies - still the same behaviour, whether or not I'm logged in.
    2 Cleared history
3 Firefox Safe Mode with all extensions disabled.

This doesn't happen on other vBulletin sites I visit, which are all running later versions of the software.

Also, while I was running Firefox 7, the "go to new post" button didn't work on some threads.

    Been fine for me.
Tried on 4 main browsers and all good.

I'd obviously be intrigued if anyone else is having the same bother.

I no little about computers, seem to get along by trial and error, but if I said I have installed the latest updates for firefox, and its now all going slower, that ties in with a previous post, should I change to something else.

Is it my connection or is anybody else experiencing slow loading pages on the forum? Other sites I visit are loading normally.
