Just the other day while having coffee with a retired dean of a major American university.......... I can confirm Mr Lankford is personaly aquainted with a great number of influential people and high ranking officers who served in WW2. In the 10 years I have seen him posting (under 30 odd screen names) he has provided a legion of first hand accounts from a great number of his 'buddies' who saw action 1944-45. If you mention a WW2 Unit Jim probably knows the commanding officer personaly and he will phone him up for some first hand information. Perhaps Jim could be persuaded to recount the tale of a 'buddy' who found a King Tiger parked up during the Bulge and he destroyed it with a grenade down the hatch whilst the crew were having breakfast inside? A little explaination of Jim's interaction with David H Lipman would be illuminating as well.
