THought I'd get this thread going again with some poppies by our local shops.

Next year is the Commemoration of the outbreak of WWI and I just thought to myself, what a good idea if everyone bought a packet of Poppy seeds (or 2) from B&Q or wherever and scattered them in random places, ie: hedgerows, traffic roundabouts, empty back garden borders, planters etc. (not somewhere that is mown or tended to regularly by the Commissioners, for example. Then, this time next year, when they flower, we would all be looking at Poppy's in remembrance of those who fell during the 1914-1918 War. 'Like' this comment but , more importantly, SHARE it as I'd love it to go Global with this and get the whole planet involved in 'Plant A Poppy Day'

With the 11th of November almost upon us, I thought I'd give this thread an appropriate bump.
Next summer I should have poppies growing in my garden.
Was in garden centre today & my youngest found pots of them for sale , raising money ofr Blind Veterans UK.
I bought 2 pots , £5.99 each.

I like those owen might see if i can get them myself, can i ask are we having the poppy header again this year?
Adam is in charge of that , we've been doing it for years now so I assume will will continue with it at that time of year.

I went up to the Tower of London today with the Military Wives branch of the Royal British Legion Women's Section which I am a member of. We did a volunteer shift planting ceramic poppies in the moat for the WW1 Centenary (info here, incase anyone hasn't heard about it - https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ceramic-poppies-to-be-planted-in-the-tower-of-londons-moat)
