Thought I'd bump this thread up as we've had a lot of new members join since 2009 . I hope you'll add some more pics.
I took this photo last year and have been using it as my Google home page. Yesterday, Google superimposed a poppy on the screen and managed to line it up with the engine cylinder. 3/5/20...Photobucket images removed and re-added.
I've only ever been to France and Belgium in the spring so I've missed the real poppies, only artificial ones from me I'm afraid...sorry. Brigadier James Hill at Pegasus Bridge Sanctuary Wood in Flanders
I took this outside a CWGC cemetery in Normandy. For the life of me I cant remember which one, I'm ashamed to say. There was a high stone wall with a large arched gateway which still had battle damge adjacent to it though. Keith
Despite poor technical quality I like to believe that this pic deserves a place in the thread because of its special authenticity in this area. Afghanistan west April 2010
I love Poppies, they look so beautiful. Sadly where we lived, growing Poppies for any motive was illegal. I hate those who found to make opium out of poppies. I love having poppy cakes.

National memorial Arboretum - 01 October 2011 - Ride to the wall 2011 Poppy drop by RLC display team member
I thought I'd wait until we were out of November to post this. In June of this year, I set off on a two week holiday to Cephalonia with my girlfriend and her family, while my brother Tom (Combover, of these pages) headed off to Normandy. I was disappointed that I was unable to go. Before I left, I handed him and his girlfriend a key to my house so they could look after it. On my return, I found this awaiting me: In case you can't properly see the inscription, is reads as follows: "Dan, I knew you couldn't get to Normandy so I've brought Normandy to you. This poppy was picked from the roadside at Thury-Harcourt on 6th June 2011. Tom." Perhaps the best gift I have ever been given.
