    I have this on him

Gefreiter 65109/33 Paul Lesker (gunner), Feldwebel Otto Wahl from Berleburg (pilot), Gefreiter 65109/25 Hans Buschbeck (radio operator) and Feldwebel O. Graf (observer) were the crew of a Junkers Ju 88A-1 (3168) of 9/KG77 based at Laon engaged on bombing London rail targets on Wednesday 18 September 1940.

Following the attacks the Junkers was itself attacked by various pilots including Flying Officer R. Puda and possibly also Pilot Officer V. Bergman in Hurricanes of 310 Squadron. The starboard engine of the Junkers, 3Z+FT, was set alight and as a result the aircraft crashed and burned out near Vange Creek, Pitsea Marshes near Basildon, Essex.

Graf alone managed to bale out and was captured wounded.

The remainder of the crew were initially buried in Becontree Cemetery, Romford during Wednesday 25 September 1940, Lesker in Grave 683, Wahl in Grave 686 and Buschbeck in Grave 685. They were all reinterred are buried in Block 1.

    Hi all,

I did some research in Berleburg (today Bad Berleburg)
There are many families with the name Wahl in Bad Berleburg of today and I spoke to Elke Wahl
She will help to find the relatives of Otto Wahl.
