Original photo showing 2 Gi’s. One holding a Thompson submachine gun

    In the photo you can see 2 GI’s. The one on the outside is holding a tommy gun. The one on the doorway appears to be holding something as well. I can’t tell if it’s a weapon or a camera. The 2 GI’s pictured were with the 1st Battalion, 407th Infantry Regiment, 102nd Division. On the back of the photo there is a theater Censor stamp with the date and location of March 21st 1945, Germany. They had likely been doing house to house fighting. Photo comes from the estate of Lieutenant John W. Dawson Jr, who was also with the 1st Battalion, 407th Infantry Regiment., 102nd Division. Dawson was from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and settled in Tallmadge, Ohio after the war. Photo from my collection.
