Hi Roy my IT skills are nil but thank you for posting this - would be interesting to know which beaches each ship landed\supported. Brian
Hi Brian, My IT skills match yours!! The table shows where the landings were: Algiers Fedala etc. I saved it as a pdf and attempted to paste it again but that didn't work either. Will try to attach the pdf - can't even see the 'paper clip'. Roy
Hi Roy pdf looks good. Sorry to be a pain but looking for the Sicily beaches for Husky on the list but cannot see any. I will track individual convoys you have identified and see what I can find - many thanks for your help and time on this Brian
Roy no problems - never sure these days if it is me or the technology. This is brilliant and I shall enjoy time going through the information you have kindly provided. Much appreciated Brian
In case you are unaware the London Gazette contains a number of reports on various WW2 operations – this one is the invasion of Sicily:- http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/38895/supplements/2077 It is 22 pages and contains a lot of detail on the ships and their movements particularly under the ‘Narrative of the operation’ from page 10 onwards. Incidentally the Gazette contains this type of report for many other operations, for example, see my post:- http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/43426-operation-torch-nov-1942/?p=563817 This reflects my interest in the North African, Sicilian and Italian theatres.
Hi Tony56 Great link thank you I shall spend time reading through this - holds a lot of interesting information. many thanks Brian
