He was one of the doctors who worked in the St Elisabeth Hospital (South African of birth) so could speak with the dutch), after he died he wanted to lay to rest near his old comrades, but not of the Oosterbeek War Cemetery as in his eyes that was only for the "Heroes of Arnhem". so he now lies opposite the War Cemetery on the General Cemetery.
