It's hard to imagine what it must have been like, jumping into that water. The other day I was rinsing the kitchen sink out with cold water and my hand went numb. Started to hurt until I ran it under the hot tap for a second or two. Being stranded up to your neck in freezing Atlantic waters??? RIP!
