Just thought i'd share this horrific tale. Nurse Joyce Winifred Rose, of Shrewsbury, died when an anti aircraft shell fell on the nursing home where she was working. It's the first casualty of it's kind i've come across. CWGC :: Casualty Details Neil

Interesting to see that documented. I've long wondered how many casualties occurred in Germany from similar sources (shells, shrapnel, aircraft parts, jettisoned equipment, bodies, etc. etc.) given the duration and intensity of the bombing campaign. For those living in the Ruhr I am sure falling debris was not an uncommon occurence.
